Monday, August 23, 2021, was a historic day for the West Platte R-II School District as it marked the official opening of West Platte Middle School. The middle school is located inside the current high school building and serves students in grades 6th-8th.
The new building was created to give middle school students a true middle school experience. Students have a locker and the ability to transition from class to class throughout the day. Academic and emotional support are also major components of the middle school model. Support programs, as well as enrichment courses, were added to the master schedule to accommodate and appeal to all learner types. The building also has a dedicated principal and counselor.
West Platte Middle School will serve our students and community with pride, passion, and excellence. Through collaboration, engagement, and rigor our teachers will prepare students for secondary and postsecondary education. We strive to provide safe and equitable education that builds a foundation for lifelong learning.
